Rising Above Your Goals and the Illusion of Self-Improvement
For years, I pursued one singular obsession: becoming a disciplined, deliberate, and consistently profitable day trader.
I tried everything - goals, journaling, affirmations, manifestation, mindset shifts, NLP techniques, hypnotherapy, and countless other approaches with talented coaches and healers. Yet nothing worked.
Then one evening, I had a revelation: my obsession with becoming disciplined and profitable was actually my biggest roadblock.
I was fixated on profitability, even though I intellectually understood it would naturally emerge from discipline both on and off the charts. I desperately wanted to "improve" myself because this current version of me was losing daily, blowing accounts consistently.
My strategy and plan were solid - I had confirmation from multiple professionals. This wasn't some imaginary edge. I'd put in the hours, done the work, yet kept making the same mistakes.
Everything changed when I experienced a profound "a-ha" moment:
There is nothing wrong with me that needs fixing.
This realization brought immense relief followed by a deeply calming wave of self-acceptance.
Suddenly, it felt natural to stop obsessing about my goals and simply enjoy the process. I had developed fantastic systems that I wasn't consistently applying because I was too anxious about fixing my emotions or achieving profitability.
Once I let go, everything fell into place.
Welcome to Flow Systems, where I share all aspects of my journey - including the darkest days that felt like failures. I now recognize those moments as beautiful stepping stones without which I wouldn't be where I am today.
